The Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) is comprised of three (3) dynamic academic units:
-
The Department of Biological and Chemical Sciences (BCS)
-
The Department of Computer Science, Mathematics and Physics (CMP)
-
The Centre for Resource Management and Environmental Studies (CERMES) - CERMES is a regional leader in applied research, graduate training and outreach focused on sustainable development and natural resource management. CERMES works to advance environmental stewardship, climate resilience and sustainable livelihoods across the Caribbean through innovative science, policy engagement and community partnerships.
The Faculty has two (2) other dynamic research-based centres, as outlined below:
Centre for Commercial Analytical Services (CCAS) - CCAS provides high-quality analytical, testing, and consultancy services to support industry, research, and regulatory needs within Barbados and the wider Caribbean. Equipped with advanced laboratory facilities and skilled technical staff, CCAS bridges science and industry by ensuring reliable results, fostering innovation, and promoting standards of excellence in analytical science.
Centre for Agricultural Research and Innovation (CAGRI) - CAGRI is dedicated to advancing sustainable agriculture, food security, and innovation in agri-science across the region.
