Spotlight on the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) Students Committee (2024-2025)
As the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) embarks on another exciting academic year, we are thrilled to introduce the newly elected FST Students Committee for the 2024-2025 academic year. This dynamic student group is dedicated to amplifying student voices, fostering community and bridging the gap between faculty and students.
Mission of the FST Students Committee
The FST Students Committee aims to represent the diverse interests and concerns of our FST student body. With a clear focus on enhancing communication between students and staff, the committee plays a crucial role in addressing student needs, organizing events and promoting an inclusive environment for all.
Meet the FST Students Executive Committee Members
The committee is comprised of a talented group of nine (9) executive committee members, each bringing unique skills and perspectives to the table:
- President: Ms. Faith Harvey
- Vice President: Ms. Gabrielle Stedman
- Secretary: Ms. Nia Bynoe
- Treasurer: Mr. Dale Marshall
- Public Relations Officer: Ms. Khloe Nandwani
- Events Officer: Ms. LauraLee Ramdial
- Constitutional Chair: Mr. Raequon Solomon
- Biological and Chemical Sciences Chairperson: Mr. Mitchell Israel-Duharte
- Computer Science, Mathematics and Physics Chairperson: Mr. Ivor Jarvis
Additionally, there are twelve (12) Committee Representatives who cover a range of disciplines, including,

A Legacy of Leadership
Over the years, the FST Students Committee has seen an array of inspiring leaders, from Mr. Taton David and Ms. Chelsea Jordan to Mr. Wasani Martinez, Ms. Jasmine Green, and Mr. Jayde Sokaloo. Each president has left a lasting mark on the committee, contributing to initiatives that enhance the student experience. Under Ms. Faith Harvey’s leadership, the committee looks forward to continuing this legacy of service and innovation.
Celebrating FST Students Week
The FST Students Committee organized a vibrant FST Students Week from September 22 to 28, 2024, reviving beloved traditions while introducing new experiences. The main highlights included:
- A Multi-Faith Church Service
- A Social Media Day
- A Scavenger Hunt
- A Games Night
- An Anime Movie Night
- “Astra”: The Fete
- A FST Student Clubs Fair
- A Snorkelling Adventure
These events not only provided opportunities for fun but also fostered a strong sense of community within the FST Faculty.
Making a Difference
The committee is committed to addressing student concerns and ensuring that the FST Faculty remains responsive to their needs. Whether it’s academic support, social activities or extracurricular initiatives, the FST Students Committee is here to help.
Notable Achievements
One of the FST Students Committee’s proudest accomplishments is the creation of the
HackMasters 2030 Challenge (2023), initiated by the former president Ms. Jasmine Greene. This event has inspired innovation and collaboration among students, showcasing the incredible talent within the FST Faculty.
A Personal Touch
As one member aptly stated, “
The best part of the committee is that we are also students. We understand what others are going through”. This connection therefore enables the committee to relate to and advocate for the student body effectively.
