Partnerships

The University of the West Indies (The UWI), Cave Hill Campus, actively forges Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) with a wide range of organizations to advance research, enhance student learning, and deepen engagement with corporate Barbados. These partnerships drive collaborative research on regional and global issues, while offering students valuable real-world experiences through internships, training, and industry exposure. By aligning academic goals with market needs, MOUs play a key role in promoting innovation, economic development, and The UWI Cave Hill’s mission of academic and regional excellence.                              

 

Recent Agreements

The UWI/A&B Music Supplies Ltd. Agreement

The University of the West Indies at Cave Hill partnered with A&B Music Supplies Ltd. to support music students through scholarships, access to quality instruments, and industry mentorship. A key feature of the partnership is a $2000 music scholarship funded by A&B Music Supplies.

The UWI/ Barbados Dairy Industries Limited

The UWI Cave Hill Campus signed a licensing and distribution agreement with Barbados Dairy Industries Limited to produce locally made diabetes shakes. The shakes will feature indigenous Caribbean flavours and bring researchers closer to offering them to the public.

The UWI/University of Venda MOU

The University of the West Indies (The UWI) Cave Hill Campus signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Venda (UNIVEN) to deepen longstanding Africa-Caribbean collaboration. Building on over 15 years of partnership through the Sustainable Learning Environment Network (SULE), the MoU supports joint research, publications, student and staff exchanges, and capacity-building initiatives. The UWI views this agreement as a milestone in operationalising its vision for global academic engagement and advancing educational resilience and innovation across regions.

The UWI/Cricket Legends of Barbados

The University of the West Indies and Cricket Legends of Barbados signed a Memorandum of Understanding to connect cricket’s rich history with cultural and educational initiatives. The partnership involves the UWI Academy, CLR James Cricket Centre, and the Legends. It aims to boost regional knowledge of cricket and encourage greater participation and engagement with the sport across the Caribbean.
